After getting back into Trainz while being stuck at home in 2020 I began creating assets for my own use based on the scenery, buildings, and details from the areas I was interested in representing. Having some interest expressed from the community in having these assets available, Shawmut Shops was launched in late 2023 as a collective point for our releases, future projects, and support information. Shawmut Shops is still a single person operation, and is operated as a side-hobby venture. Projects are worked on as time permits, and may not be released on any set schedule. |

Q. Your Asset isn't working, what should I do? A. Our assets are tested before release and should experience no issues during install or use. First, make sure all listed dependencies are installed and updated. If that doesn't correct the issue, try re-downloading and reinstalling the asset in question. If after these steps the asset continues to not function, you can contact us with information about the problem. Q. Can I use your assets in a free route I want to release? A. Shawmut Shops assets are released for use in private personal routes and freeware routes. Reskinned assets must maintain their original copyright and creator statements in the config file. Q. Can we use your assets in a payware route? A. Use of Shawmut Shops content in Payware based releases requires prior, written approval. Contact us to discuss the project and terms. Q. I believe one of your assets violates copyright or trademark that I am in control of, what should I do? A. Contact us with any copyright concerns. Q. Are you planning on releasing any Routes? A. At this time, the majority of our routes are little more than scenerized dioramas for screenshots. We do intend, in time, to release some routes for download, however we have no time frame. Q. Are you planning on releasing any Rolling Stock/Locomotives? A. We have several rolling stock assets in production, but currently have no release schedule. Keep an eye on our Projects page for updates. Q. When is ______ being released? A. Shawmut Shops is a side-hobby venture, which means I work on projects as I have time to do so. We typically avoid any kind of scheduling for this reason. Keep an eye on our Projects page for any updates. Q. Do you take suggestions/do commisons? A. At this time we do not have the capacity for Commission or Request based work. Q. Where do you get your models/meshes from? A. Our models are either crafted in house, or purchased from commercial 3D supply sites. Q. Where do you get your textures from? A. Our textures are created from photographs we've taken of real world objects, or sourced from commercial texture sites. Q. Are you hiring/adding to your team? A. At this time Shawmut Shops is being operated strictly as a side-hobby venture. We are not currently hiring or working on any schedule that would be conducive to a team-based production. |

Our assets are modeled, textured, coded, and tested in house or built from commercial mesh assets. In the case of any reskinned assets all efforts are taken for authorized cloning long before public release.
